Patricia Callahan Walkenhorst 

         Irish Settlers of Kansas    

    

            Patricia Callahan Walkenhorst is a writer, genealogist and local historian, specializing in Kansas Irish history. Her prize-winning family history book, The Callahans of Kansas: With Brady, Burke, O’Donnell, Ryan, White & Young Genealogies, her Kansas: The Early Years contribution with Father Lahey to The Encyclopedia of the Irish in America, University of Notre Dame Press, her Be Careful Climbing Your Family Tree article in March/April 2002 Everton’s Family History Magazine, and other works have led her to capture this precious Kansas history before it is lost. Pat lives in Blue Springs, Missouri and is a member of Kansas City Writers Group, Kansas Authors Club, Irish Museum and Cultural Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas Historical Society. All of her grandparents were Irish Kansas pioneers. She is the widow of Terry E. Walkenhorst and has two children, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
