    Born and raised in southern Connecticut, Joyce started writing short stories in the fourth grade. After graduating from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Corporate Communications, Joyce worked as a scriptwriter and production coordinator before she entered the legal profession. During this time Joyce rode competitively, rescuing horses, and dogs. Copper, her first equine rescue, was her best friend until he died in 2002. After a severe riding accident, Joyce decided to hang up her stirrups and devote more time to her writing. She now lives in Connecticut with her two children and a rescued beagle named Blue. Some Hearts is Joyce’s debut novel.
